Vera was born and raised in Paris by Vietnamese immigrants and an American ex-pat. In late childhood her family moved to San Francisco, where she often spent her days immersed in creative reverie in the back of her mother’s Vietnamese restaurant. At university she double-majored in Mathematics and Chemistry while painting wildly, often late into the night. Upon graduation she returned to the Bay Area to paint and explore the teachings and practices of Dzogchen and the kundalini tantras, while sharing her work through the underground networks of DIY culture, transitory cultural experiments and the emerging cryptoverse. Her calligraphically seductive work explores and expresses the possibilities of pure sensation, immanent bodily forces and the principles of emergent order.
